Confirm the exact promotional terms
Identify eligible transaction types, start and end dates, transfer or purchase fees, minimum payments, and events that can end the promotion. Save the disclosure rather than relying on an advertisement.
Create a payoff schedule
Divide the planned balance by fewer months than the promotion allows, then place those payments into the cash-flow forecast. The extra margin protects against a slow month or billing-date misunderstanding.
Do not confuse rewards with savings
Rewards are small compared with interest on a large revolving balance. Choose the card for the complete economics and controls, not a sign-up bonus alone.
Understand personal responsibility
Many small-business cards require a personal guarantee and personal credit review. Entity formation does not automatically remove that obligation.
Keep spending operationally useful
Use the card for documented business expenses that support a near-term business purpose. Avoid using revolving credit to fund persistent losses or personal spending.
